  • AFC Wimbledon season 1 - mid season

It's been a week.. And my wimbledon game has reached the mid season period.. We are currently doing quite well.. Made a few signings to boosts our defence and midfield..

We lost 5-0 to Basingstoke in the first game.. We were humiliated but we managed to bounce back the next game

In august we managed to get 3 wins from 5 games.

By December we are on top of the table.. we were undefeated for 17 games in a row. An amazing feat for a semi-pro club.
We lost in the FA cup 3rd qualifying round to Gateshead and in the 4th round of the conference cup south to Torquay but we are still in the FA trophy competition and 1st in the league.

Somewhere around september and October, i sorta changed our style of play and currently i'm still experimenting on a few formations and tactics.

As for our players, i was mostly impressed with Chris Robertsons' perfomances in his last 5 games by scoring 4 goals from set pieces.

And Anthony Rivieres' performance was also great. He managed to produce 10 assists from his first game till december.

And Jon Main is our current top scorer in the league.

    Player Stats

That is all for mid season report. Do hope that we'll finish the season at the top of the league.

  • Football Manager 2009

I have always been a fan of football and sometimes i do wish that i can become one of the football manager of a team or club. It's just a dream nothing more than that. However, almost 10 years ago i started to play a computer game called Championship Manager 3 and i realized that dreams do come true. Now, 10 years later i am still playing this game but with a newer version and it's called Football manager 2009.

After months of playing this game and reading about other's blog regarding this game, i decided to start one myself.
So, here's the challenge i've set for myself. I decided to start a new game with a new team from the Blue Square League. I chose AFC Wimbledon from the Blue Square South League. Here's a little information regarding the team:

AFC Wimbledon are a semi-professional English football club affiliated to both the London and Surry Football Associations. AFC Wimbledon take their name from and trace their origins toWimbledon in the London Borough of Merton, although their home ground, Kingsmeadow, is in the neighbouring Royal Borough of Kingstonupon Thames. The club and its supporters consider it to be a continuation of the former Wimbledon FC. The club is affectionately known as The Don and retains a fierce rivalry with Milton Keynes Dons.

    The season expectations:

And the media predicts that we'll finish 2nd in the league.

As for the team, the players were quite decent and only a few of them are good enough to gain promotion for our club.
Therefore, some players had to go and some players were bought.

Among the players that were bought i would like to highlight 2 new players that did well in all the friendlies:

    CRAIG BAXTER

Craig Baxter did well in all the 6 friendlies. He scored 3 goals, 2 assists and 2 Man of the match with an average rating of 7.28.

    DARREN BARNARD

He played only in 3 friendly matches with an average rating of 7.50. He scored 2 goals, 1 assists and 1 man of the match.

Well, i do hope these players can help get our team to reach promotion.

  • A FRESH NEW START....

Haha, i didn't realize that i use to write a blog. Haha, deleted all the previous entries because when i browse through it i realised the things that i wrote about sounded so stupid and i can't believe i used to write something that humiliate myself.

Anyways, it has been at least 2 years since my last entry and here i am back on this blog page trying to write my so called first entry. It has been amazing.. A really challenging and exciting 2 years. Went through so many obstacles and not to forget there are a few miracles and good fortunes that happened along the way too. I was 20 years old in 2007 and now in 2009 i'm already 22.. time flies..

I kinda miss my friends.. enot is in Uk doing his degree in business.. Yed will be going by the end of this year but the last time i met him was in march and i haven't see him since then.. it's really hard to meet him because he stays in Bangi and i'm all the way in Shah Alam... meanwhile for fais, i'm not sure of his whereabouts.. Hmmm, this is life..

Anyways, i've been busy myself.. for the past 2 semesters i've been busy with events and assignments.. for instance, i had to organize a dinner for the Food Science and Technology course in UiTM.. The event alone took me at least 7 months to organize and it was not an easy task. Well, it would be a bit easier if there was more teamwork instead of people accusing and backstabbing each other. The second event was a semester after.. a food product development competition.. Haha, we were given 3 months to accomplished this task of creating a new food product or improvise the product that is already existed in the market. It took us (group of 5) till the last 2 days before the competition to discover the product formulation that make us won the competiton two days later.. Unbelieveable, for the first few months we've been cracking our head trying to think of a new product that we can develop or even modified the existing ones. Miracles do happen.. We were about to give up when suddenly we saw the lab assistant was frying something in the lab and that was like a sign from Allah (Alhamdullilah). Within the next few hours we managed to create a new formulaton and modify the food that the lab assistant fried earlier and at the end of the competition we were announced the winner for the diploma category. It was a sweet and memorable win.
